Apple released the third beta version of iOS 12.4, less than two weeks after the first version available for download. The new update is connected by watchOS 5.3 beta 2 and tvOS 12.4 beta 2, with the three updates available for download.
The iOS 12.4 version should not bring new visual features to the iPhone or iPad, and so far, none of the beta updates have done so.
iOS 12.4 beta doesn’t yet include any visible changes for users; however, there are some under-the-hood updates available to prepare iPhones and iPads for Apple Card, the new credit card coming from Apple later this summer. it’s been also rumored that Apple employees are using the beta version currently to test Apple Card already.
However, this version is only to add support for the next Apple Card, which will be launched later this summer. Initially available only in the U.S., Apple Card is tightly integrated with the iOS ecosystem and, of course, with Apple Pay.
This beta 3 version is now available for registered developers to download either over the air on devices with the necessary profile installed, or via the Apple developer portal.
The current version of the beta versions of iOS 12.4 is in the wake of the public version of iOS 12.3, one that brought the updated TV app to the platform.
The most drastic changes are expected when Apple announces iOS 13 during its inaugural opening at WWDC 2019 on June 3rd, with some new features and visual redesigns on the cards. This is a beta version that we look forward to having in our hands shortly after the main conference closes, and we will share our findings once done.
