Today, Motorola has announced a new mid-range smartphone: The Moto Z4, which obviously exceeds the 2018 Moto Z3. With a modern design and the latest software on board, Android 9 Pie and customization of the user interface, the Motorola Moto Z4 is clearly made for customers who need advanced features at a relatively affordable price.
At a cost of $499.99 unlocked, Motorola Moto Z4 is available for pre-order in the US starting now, May 30, and will be released properly a week later, June 6th. You can pre-order here on Motorola or search for your phone in stores like Amazon, Best Buy and B&H Photo. The unlocked Z4 comes with a 360-degree Moto Mod camera (usually priced at $199.99) and will work in all relevant US companies, including Verizon, AT & T, T-Mobile, Sprint and their prepaid brands.
A Moto Z4 will be launched only for Verizon on June 13, at a cost of only $ 240 for users who activate a new service line.
The Motorola Moto Z4 will be compatible with Motorola’s 5G Moto Mod, which will allow you to take advantage of Verizon’s fast 5G network launched earlier this year. Verizon customers who want to buy a Moto Mod 5G for the Z4 will have to pay $199.99 for this. In other words, if you need a 5G-compatible Moto Z4, be prepared to pay at least $440 throughout the package.
Nice Looking Phone With Promising Features
The Moto Z4 sports a 6.4-inch OLED screen with 1080 x 2340 pixels and a fingerprint scanner hidden underneath. The body of the phone is made of metal and is treated with a splash-proof nanocoating. This is not really a waterproof device, so it is not advisable to wet it in water.
The most important thing that makes the Moto Z4 a mid-range smartphone, instead of a high-end one, is its processor, an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 675. Don’t take this wrong, this is a very capable chipset, but you can’t fight with the powerful Snapdragon 855 found in the most expensive devices (starting with the Samsung Galaxy S10 series).
The new Moto phone also offers 4 GB of RAM, 128 GB of expandable storage space, a standard 3.5 mm audio jack and a 3600 mAh battery with Turbo Charging. This battery could be one of the strengths of the phone, as Motorola says it should provide up to 2 full days on a single charge.
Unlike most other non-cheap 2019 smartphones, the Motorola Moto Z4 does not have a double or triple rear camera. Instead, it offers a single camera with a 48 MP sensor that by default produces 12 MP photos; In this way, the resulting pixels are larger, so images should appear large even in low light situations. This camera actually has a dedicated night vision mode that promises to make dark photos look good. The camera also features optical image stabilization, 4K video recording, and dual LED flash.
On the front, the Moto Z4 houses a 24 MP camera that produces 6 MP self-shots with a pixel size larger than normal (again, it is useful for photos in low light, at least in theory).
A great phone option, but specifically for Verizon customers?
Even if we have already played with the Moto Z4, we will have to check it carefully to see if it’s worth $499. However, we can already say that this device seems to be of great value to Verizon Wireless users who can only buy it for $240.
