Verizon Will Expand The Coverage Of The 5G Network In Two New Locations In The US

A day later T-Mobile revealed exactly where it will launch its 5G services, Verizon announced new details on its 5G network coverage. Right now, Big Red has activated the 5G service switch in just two cities in the US, Chicago, and Minneapolis. Obviously, the 5G service will only be available in some areas of these cities, since Verizon cannot cover them completely.

However, it appears that Verizon intends to expand its 5G network coverage to two new locations in the US: Denver and Providence. The operator confirmed today that its Ultra-Wideband 5G network is already available in selected areas of Denver and from July 1, its 5G service will be available in selected areas of Providence.

Of course, you will need one of the four 5G enabled smartphones to access the Verizon 5G network: LG V50 THINQ 5G, Z4, Moto Z3 and Z4 combined with 5G moto mod, and Samsung Galaxy S10 5G.

Verizon says companies and consumers in those cities should expect a typical download speed of 450 Mbps, with speeds of over 1.5 Gbps. Now, if you live in Denver, Verizon’s 5G service will be available in the Highland areas, south of 37th Street, between Tejon and Navajo Street. The 5G network will also cover LoDo and areas around Coors Field.

In addition, customers will also have 5G service in the Central Business District around iconic landmarks such as the Denver Performing Arts Center, Sculpture Park, and Paramount Theater. The Capitol Hill areas and the sections north of the Denver Tech Center will also have the Verizon 5G service.

For those living in Providence, the Verizon 5G network will cover parts of College Hill, Federal Hill, Monte Speranza and landmarks such as Brown University, Rhode Island School of Design and Providence College.

Verizon is scheduled for 5G service to multiple cities by the end of 2019, including: Charlotte, Cincinnati, Atlanta, Boston, Cleveland, Dallas, Indianapolis, Kansas City, Houston, Des Moines, Columbus, Detroit, Little Rock, Phoenix, San Diego, Memphis, Salt Lake City and Washington, DC.
