It is quite easy to delete friends from Snapchat. If you no longer wish to follow certain users, you can remove them from your list with a few clicks. That said, if a process is easy, it is often just as easy to make mistakes.
You could accidentally delete someone you did not want. What if you could resolve any conflict you had, but oops! They are already deleted! Will this lead to a terrible friend drama?
Not necessarily. You don’t have to worry because you can add your friends immediately. However, you will need to enter information about your profile before you can add it again. What if you don’t remember your username?
Depending on the information you have about them, you can use different methods to add Snapchat friends. This article explains four different methods for finding deleted friends.
How to Find Deleted Friends
If you accidentally deleted a friend and want to add them again, you can do so in several ways. You can add them by username, from a contact list, from your friend’s list, or by using a plugin code.
A useful feature of Snapchat is that friends often stay on your friend’s list even when you delete them, even for a very limited time. So, if you don’t remember your friend’s username or contact information, and you’ve just accidentally deleted it, your first stop should be to check if it’s still on your friend’s list.
If your friend’s username is still on your friend’s list, you can easily add it again. To do this, you must:
- Access the Snapchat app.
- Tap your user profile in the upper left corner of the screen.
- Find the Friends section and select My Friends.
When the list opens, you will see all the users who follow you and follow you.
Even if you have deleted several friends, they can remain on this list with a small plus sign to the right of their names. This means that they are always following you and happily ignore the big mistake you just made. To add them again, just tap the plus sign. Your deleted friend will become your friend again.
Of course, this method will only work if this friend also follows you.
Add a deleted friend using your Snapchat username
If you remember your friend’s username, you can add it quickly. Just use the search option to find them. Follow these steps:
Open Snapchat in the application menu.
Select the Add friends icon at the top right of the screen.
Press the Add button on the right.
After following these steps, you have added your friend again. If you do not remember your username, you may be able to retrieve it by visiting Snapchat in your web browser and choosing the Snapchat Data option. Downloading this information will give you a full list of the people you have blocked or deleted.
Log in and follow the verification steps to access Snapchat. Then upload your information to the website, open the file, and find your username.
Add friend deleted from contacts
Snapchat also syncs all of your contacts so you can easily find and add them through the app. Follow these instructions to add a friend to your contact list:
- Open the Snapchat app.
- Tap the Add Friends icon at the top right of the screen.
- Tap All Contacts on the right side of the screen.
- You will see a list of all your contacts who have a Snapchat account.
- Find your friend and press the Add button to their right.
If you can’t find a deleted friend in your contacts and you know they previously had your contact information, they may deactivate your Snapchat account. On the other hand, they could just use a different email or number for Snapchat.
Add a friend with a Snapcode
Another way to find your friend is to use their Snapcode. If you have a photo of your friend’s Snapcode on your phone, Snapchat will easily find your profile. To do this, you must:
- Go to Snapchat.
- Tap your profile icon in the upper left corner.
- Select Add friends on the profile screen.
- Tap the ghost icon on the right side of the search bar.
- Find the Snapcode image in the gallery.
- Tap the image.
- Snapchat will scan the code, find your friend and add it to your friend list.
Please note that the Snapcode must be correctly sized. If the image is cropped, stretched, or otherwise altered, it will not work.
How does deletion work on Snapchat?
You can delete a friend on Snapchat and never worry about getting a notification unless you add it again. There are ways for people to know if they have been withdrawn or not.
Another user will not be able to see your hook score if they are not a friend of you. Depending on your privacy settings, they will not be able to see your Snaps, stories or messages unless you have a public profile.
If your friend realizes that you have become MIA on your account, you can contact them to ask why they deleted them, so be ready. If it was an accident, you may not even notice that they have been gone for a while.
You will have to explain some things
As mentioned above, when you remove a friend from your friend’s list, no notification is displayed. Your friends will not know that you have deleted them. However, once you’ve added them, you will likely receive a notification from the app that says “(Your username) added it to you!”
If this happens, you may need to explain that you accidentally deleted them. Whether it is the real truth or a little white lie is entirely up to you. But hey, at least we managed to restore things as they were before things got out of hand!
