Photoshop is not just a strong brand. In the world of photo manipulation, it is practically the only brand. If the name of your product becomes a verb (“photoshopping” images), that says something. But there’s a reason why it’s such a strong brand: it’s very, very good on the desk. It’s not a simple product: we have a guide that covers only the latest news from Photoshop CS6, and a full set of four more pieces of other guides (see the page) that cover the full version of Photoshop.
If you are new to photo editing, Photoshop can be a daunting application. The product certainly has a small learning curve, especially if you are only familiarizing yourself with the software, with no tutorials or teaching instructions. This is where mobile applications come into play. While these mobile products are less powerful than older siblings based on desktop computers, for most photographers who are just starting out, using Photoshop on their smartphones or tablets is the best way to learn the platform. The mobile platform of Adobe Photoshop has been expanded in recent years and is more of a suite than anything else. At the time of writing, there are four different Photoshop applications in the Adobe Play Store, each with their own features, functions and exclusive applications.
So when I looked at the free Android version of Photoshop called Adobe Photoshop Express, I naturally expected something surprising that was at least as impressive as Snapseed, Google’s powerful image editor. Unfortunately, this was not the case.
Adobe Photoshop Express:
Mobile applications, especially for mobile phones instead of tablets, should be easy to use. You should not play with complex controls and glide through small, small toolbars in search of the right icon. However, this kind of simplicity can go too far. From the first moment, Adobe Photoshop Express worried me:
These are the thumbnails of the pictures on my phone. However, they are not subdivided into albums and, what is worse, many images are missing by default. By analyzing the configuration, Photoshop Express was finally able to index all photos stored on my phone. By default, however, it contained only a limited number of subsets. I chose a photo that I wanted to edit and decided in the hope of editing a sophisticated user interface.
Adobe Photoshop Express is available on iOS and Android devices in App Store and Google Play Store, respectively. Download and install the app by clicking one of the following Links:

The power of Adobe’s Photoshop Suite on mobile platforms has never been greater, and it’s impressive to see how apps have grown over the years, and how effectively smartphones and tablets have evolved. There is still no real replacement for the Photoshop desktop on mobile devices. The combination of the four applications, however, can make the experience more enjoyable. For Mix, Fix and Sketch there are some functions that are taken directly from Photoshop CC. Disconnecting applications will certainly make it harder to combine them. This is not impossible. In the future, Adobe may be revising its plans for Photoshop on mobile devices. However, working with multiple applications and most of the required Adobe Identification Records is currently provided by Adobe. And while this is impractical, anyone, from new Photoshop users to seasoned professionals, can take advantage of the tools they need to create a simple or complex experience.
