When you sign in to AOL Messaging Instant Account for the first time through the AIM client, Username and Password fields are required for you to enter. It will check the option of remember me by default which is under the form and once you are done the sign in process the application will automatically install you every time when you will launch the program even you sign out. To prevent the AIM to automatically sign in you need to make some changes into the program settings.
Follow the required steps mentioned below to stop this AOL Automatic login screen.
Method 1: Unchecking Remember Password
Step 1: Enter your username and password in your AOL program for the login process.
Step 2: From Main Menu click on File.
Step 3: From the Dropdown menu click on Sign Out.
Step 4: Uncheck the Remember password option which is under the login form. Now you need to delete the username and password by pressing the backspace button on the keyboard.
Step 5: Then enter your username and password manually. After that click on sign in button and you need to repeat this process every time when you want to login to AOL.
Note: If you don’t remember your password then you can simply click on the forget password option to set up your new password.
Step 6: From the main menu click on File option and to exit out from the AIM screen click on Exit and save the preferences.
Method 2: Changes in Startup Settings
Step 1: Login to your AOL account by entering username and password.
Step 2: From the File Menu, select the search option of Keywords.
Step 3: In the text box you need to type Start-up Settings.
Step 4: Now uncheck the option Automatically sign on with this screen name when I open AOL.
Step 5: Lastly, restart your computer and you will notice no automatic sign in of AOL.
