Earlier this month, we inform you that a cryptic Tweet Ice stroke Universe (@UniverseIce) pointed to a 45W charger for Samsung Galaxy Note 10 and note 10 Galaxy Pro. But that rumor was shot down by Max Weinbach XDA in a tweet posted today. Weinbach writes that his source says the Galaxy Note 10 Pro will offer 25W charging, not 45W. In the same Tweet, Weinbach says a Samsung Galaxy phone will launch with a 45W charger, and that is the mid-range Galaxy A90.
While Weinbach does not mention the “standard” Galaxy Note model 10, one wonders if that phone will also contain a 25W or 15W charger with the Galaxy S10 line. Given that this version of the Galaxy Note 10 is expected to have a 3400mAh battery, don’t be surprised to see the slower of the two out of the box with the basic variant of the phone. Meanwhile, a 4500 mAh battery can power the Galaxy Note 10 Pro.
Is it possible that the memories of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 still chase Sammy? The mobile phone was sold at a rate that would have made it the bestselling of all the time company phones. But thanks to problems with the 3500mAh battery, several units exploded, forcing Samsung to retrieve the phone twice. After the second withdrawal, Samsung stopped selling the device. Since not all Galaxy Note 7 users have sent their phone to the manufacturer; to make the units virtually usable, Samsung has been forced to send software updates. The company recovered with the Galaxy Note 8 and since then things have been pretty quiet. Yes, a Galaxy 5G S10 exploded earlier this year, but it was caused by an “external impact” and was not connected in any way with the Galaxy Note 7 fiasco.
Samsung Galaxy A90; A mid-range phone with flagship specs
Last month Samsung announced a pair of 100-watt Type-C power controllers, paired with Xiaomi. But none of the companies plan to launch such a fast charger, although it can completely fill a 4000mAh battery in 17 minutes. Huawei currently uses a 40W charger on the P30 Pro and Apple should even increase its recharge game this year. While the current Apple XS iPhone, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR are accompanied by a 5W charging block, the company sells an 18W charger for $29. However, gossip around the water cooler must Apple, including the 18W rapid charger with the 2019 iPhone models.
The Samsung Galaxy A90 is part of the company’s new mid-range line. In fact, it will be the best Galaxy A model with a 6.7-inch display and a notchless Infinity Display. This is achieved through the use of a pop-up rotating camera; That’s right, there are no notches, just a huge screen with super-thin bevels. It would not be a surprise to see a 4500mAh battery with this model and, if the Weinbach source is correct, the phone will come with the 45W charger that many expected to be inside the Galaxy Note 10. There are conflicting reports on the whole chip that will drive this unit; one requires that the Galaxy A90 be equipped with the Snapdragon 855 mobile platform, while the other says it expects a Snapdragon 700 series chipset under the hood.
We should see up to four different Galaxy Note 10 models presented in August. The standard model is featuring a 6.3-inch curved AMOLED display. The Galaxy Note Pro will include a 6.7-inch curved AMOLED display and both models will be available in the 5G variant.
