We already have a clear idea of what Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL will look like thanks to a number of leaks and from that point of view, the accessory maker Skinomi agrees with many things. However, take the information with the usual grain of salt.
Although there are still many months before the launch, Skinomi (via GSMArena) has gone ahead and created a new screen protector designed specifically for use on the Google Pixel 4. The accessory will not be released until mid-November, but it can be pre-ordered, something that suggests that the company relies on the accuracy of its design.
In conjunction with recent news leaks and rumors, the screen saver includes a large pill-shaped cutout in the upper right corner that should fit the hole design that Google is supposedly adopting. The two front cameras should be present inside this area, one of which will probably include a wide-angle lens.
Like most of the flagships of 2019, the display of the Pixel 4 series will come combined with a minimum size bezel and an equally subtle implementation above.
Reportedly, another feature that makes its way with Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL is the one that has been present in Google’s flagship since the second-generation models. To be precise, it seems that a stereo setup of the front speaker has made the cut and is positioned towards the edge of the frame to avoid interference with the new display. The cutouts for the speakers are also visible on the screen saver.
Will there be physical buttons after all?
As mentioned above, Skinomi seems to agree with most of the information in Pixel 4. However, the rendering provided directly contradicts one of the largest and perhaps most controversial rumor.
A reliable source suggested a couple of weeks ago that Google was eliminating all the physical buttons of Google Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL in favor of capacitive alternatives that help create a perfect design. Today’s rendering, however, includes an accented power button and extended volume rocker. Other strange details include the three-button navigation system instead of the new Google-based gesture alternative and the presence of the Flamingo application on the main screen.
Google Pixel 4 and 4 XL specs and release date
Following in the footsteps of the Samsung Galaxy S10 and OnePlus 7 Pro, it is expected that Google Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL will come with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855. If this were another year, the chip would be accompanied by only 4GB of RAM. But according to recent information, Google will finally increase its minimum to 6 GB. Furthermore, 128 GB of non-expandable internal storage is also expected.
Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL are expected to arrive at Google’s annual hardware event in early October. Advance orders will probably begin immediately after the introductory event and will precede the launch in the following week.
